Elen Graff

Elen Graff photographs people as they are—honest, cinematic, and emotionally tangible. Her aim is to reveal not just appearance, but also essence and state of mind. She works with natural staging, finely crafted light, and minimal retouching to create images in which people recognize themselves—like stills from a film.

As a trained visual artist (Master of Fine Arts, 2012), Elen brings her sense of composition, line, and symbolism into photography. Fourteen years of training in the Russian academic tradition sharpened her understanding of form and light.

In recent years, she has photographed more than 500 people—with the aim of making personality, inner calm, and genuine emotion visible. Her approach is attentive and respectful; her pedagogical training is especially helpful when working with children and families.

Her signature style was evident in Tallinn as well: for the TV broadcaster ETV+, she photographed the presenters on location—lively and far from the studio look.
